TALLAHASSEE, FL- Maclay’s Head of School James Milford announced Lance Ramer as the new Dean of the Maclay Middle School and Head Coach of the Marauders’ football program. Ramer will replace Coach Kyler Hall who took the head coaching position at his alma mater Suwanee High School.

Ramer comes to Maclay from Jersey City, New Jersey and brings 14 years of coaching experience including spending the last eight years as head coach at two reputable independent schools in the Northeast, Riverdale Country School, and Montclair Kimberley Academy. He also has 14 years of classroom experience teaching Algebra, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus as well as a background as a Dean of Students and College Counselor.

“Lance is the ideal Independent School educator,” said Head of School James Milford. “He has an outstanding work ethic, high expectations for himself and others, is gifted in building relationships with students and parents and has a contagious positive can-do spirit that infects those he comes in contact with. We are excited to have him join our team as we take steps to reach our full potential.”

Ramer holds a BA in Math and Psychology from the University of Rochester where he played four years of college football and two years of college baseball for the Yellow Jackets. He has an M. Ed. in Leadership from New England College, and will graduate in May with an MA in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University. Lance is also a licensed Principal and a Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Lance and his wife Kristin have two young boys and will move to Tallahassee this summer.
