TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The 2016 Olympic Games will feature athletes from across the globe. The potential for nearly two dozen of them to be from Florida State is very real, and two that have already qualified are still active Seminoles.

One of them, Kellion Knibb, is a three time ACC Champion who finished second in this year's NCAA Championships for Discus.

Knibb is representing her home country of Jamaica in the Games, but she's training in Tallahassee, and said while there's no added pressure to perform well, her training program is definitely more intense.

"Trying to get stronger, faster, more powerful, more technical," she said of the differences between training during the season and training now. "It has gone up a notch as far as, especially since we are coming out of Championship mode where everything was simmered a little. Now we're bubbling up again preparing for the biggest meet of my life."

Her coach, two time Olympian Dorian Scott, recruited Knibb out of high school, and admitted it's been pretty cool watching her develop into an Olympian herself.

"Coming out of high school, I think she went 51 meters and now she's at 61," he said. "It kind of makes me feel good as a coach and as a track coach, your goal is always to have an Olympian you coach yourself so I'm really happy about that."

Knibb said she's unsure of when she'll head to Rio, but until then, she said she'll continue to train at Florida State.
