TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - For the second straight week, it was a tale of two halves for the Florida State football team. The Noles turned it on in the second half against South Florida, as they scored on all five second half possessions to beat the Bulls 34-14 and improve to 2-0 on the year.
The stand-out of the game? Running back Dalvin Cook, who sealed up the hat trick while rushing for 266 yards, the second most in a single game in Florida State history.
For his performance, Cook was named the Walter Camp National Player of the Week, but now, the attention has shifted from South Florida to Boston College. The Noles don't have a ton of time to prepare, as instead of suiting up Saturday, Florida State will throw it back to their high school days and play under Friday night lights, but head coach Jimbo Fisher isn't too big of a fan.
"I'm a Saturday guy period," he said during his Monday morning press conference. "I just think for the kid's benefit and the welfare of getting back, academic, the whole ball of wax, I just think Friday night's are for high school football. I think that's one of our great things we have in this country, but at the same time, it is what it is and I look forward to going up there and plying. I'm not going to sit here and say I'm a huge fan of it, because I'm not."
Friday's road contest with ACC foe Boston College is slated for 8:00.
