TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - High school volleyball teams in Florida kick off preseason this weekend. The Leon Lions have made four straight trips to the State Final Four, finishing State Runner-up in 2017.

They lost a strong senior class, but the Lions just reload. There is a lot of talent back on this squad, and head coach Angie Strickland is excited about this team. After last year's five set loss in the Final Four, she thinks this year could turn out differently because of some tough scheduling.

"We just need to find what will put us over the top. So, we definitely went with a tougher schedule," she said. "We're going out to Vegas for an invitational tournament that we got invited too. And we're doing a ton of road trips so playing the best in the state that we can, and then going out and playing the best in the country on the west coast."
