TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - There are a couple of weeks left in the school year for the Class of 2018, and there is still some time to celebrate a couple final signings before the school year ends.
Tuesday was a happy day at Godby High School, as Sam Bradwell lived out a childhood dream of running track by signing with the University of Central Florida. The Knights recruited Sam as a hurdler, an event she picked up just four months ago, but fell into naturally.
There were a lot of teammates and family on hand to celebrate, and Sam said she was excited to share the moment.
"It's very special. It really shows the support that I have and all the love they show me," she said. "I thought I would be a 400 runner and really it just worked out with the hurdles. I'm excited to see where I go with the hurdles. It hasn't hit me yet, but it's real!"
Sam said she wants to study to be a pediatrician.
