TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - Gadsden County head football coach Joey Striplin had a heart attack Tuesday night.

He had triple bypass surgery Wednesday, and he remains in stable condition and is receiving dialysis as of Wednesday night.

Gadsden County still with a postseason game to prep for this Friday night. The Jaguars didn't win a game in the regular season, but their schedule was a tough one. Seven of the nine teams they faced are also playoff bound.

Gadsden County has their focus on South Walton, and when we talked to coach Striplin Monday, he said his team was fired up and ready to work.

"They're a good team, a well coached team," he said of the Seahawks. "It's good to be playing a school our size. I think we can match up well with them. You know, there's been critics of how we made it and how we got there. That's the way the system is. Last year we beat the teams that made the playoffs. Little karma coming back, but hopefully we can prove ourselves and get a little win streak going."

Gadsden County's match-up with South Walton is set for Friday. Kick-off is at 7:30 central time. To donate to Coach Striplin's recovery, you can do so here.
