Former Lincoln Standout Looking to Give Back to Tallahassee After NFL Career

TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) -  BJ Daniels is arguably one of the best high school talents to ever come out of Tallahassee. The quarterback made his way to Tampa for college where he was sensational at South Florida, throwing for over 8400 yards and racking up over 2000 yards on the ground for the Bulls.

He was a stand-out at Lincoln in high school, becoming one of the top quarterback recruits in the Class of 2008. After a six year NFL career, and a Super Bowl crown, Daniels announced he was hanging up his cleats earlier this week.

Now, he's back home, and wants to give back to the community that helped make him into the athlete, and person, he is today.

"I want to build a facility. A facility where you have SAT and ACT prep programs," he said, adding that his passion is helping kids. "That's part of what I was doing in Atlanta during my time off, training kids on the football field, in the classroom. I played basketball in college as well, just doing anything I can with the knowledge and experiences that I've had to try to pass that along. Right now, when I say explore the market, I'm training kids now in Tallahassee and get a feel for the city since I've been away for so long to see how that could potentially work."

Daniels said he wants to partner with an already established program if possible to make something great in Leon County. For anyone that is interested, Daniels can be reached at 305-764-1496.
