Florida High Captures District Championship, Others Move On In Regional Play

TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - Tuesday was a busy night in the Big Bend for high school volleyball. Several teams hit the floor in Regional Semifinals, while Florida High hosted Marianna for the Class 5A District 2 Championship.

The 5A-2 Tournament was delayed a week due to Hurricane Michael, but the Seminoles shook off the rust, beating Gadsden County in the Semifinals, then turning around to sweep Marianna for the District Championship.

In Classes 1A-4A, several other teams took part in the first round of Regionals. In Class 2A, Aucilla Christian fell to Beaches Chapel, while Community Christian fell at Eagle's View.

In Class 3A, St. John Paul II are Elite Eight bound after defeating St. Johns Country Day. In Class 4A, the Maclay Marauders saw their season end after a three set defeat at Providence.
