TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - For the first time since 2015, the Florida A&M football team hit the field for spring practice. The Rattlers were restricted from spring ball last year due to APR sanctions, but turned it around in the fall, and because of that, the lights turned on bright and early Friday morning.
Ten days of spring practice kicked off with a pleased Alex Wood at the end of day one. Wood, who is entering his third season at the helm of the Rattler program, loved the energy and effort.
For many of the players, it's their first time practicing in the spring for FAMU, and the excitement level was high across the board.
"Being able to be coached up, and actually watch film and break down the film and have film, I feel like we can really benefit off that having that film and having these few weeks of practice," said quarterback Ryan Stanley.
"It feels good to have it back," agreed head coach Alex Wood. "Anytime you get the chance to come out and prepare and continue to develop players and develop your system, your program, it's a lot of fun, it really is."
Florida A&M's spring culminates with the Spring Game on April 15th.
