VALDOSTA, Ga - WTXL — The 16th ranked Blazers men’s basketball team followed up a tough loss to West Georgia on Friday night, with a gritty win Saturday afternoon against the Wolves. And head coach Mike Helfer left the Complex feeling good about his team’s effort in Saturday’s matinee.

Watching his guys flip the script following a tough home loss serves as a promising sign as this team continues to develop in the later half of the season. While Helfer believes there’s still much more room for improvement, this past weekend served as a great learning tool to aid that process along.

“I think it helped us this weekend, I think we learned a little bit about ourselves, we had a good video session this morning I think that will help us moving forward," said Helfer. "And I would see for us, just take it one game at a time and let’s see what happens. You always hear that, people hear that but it’s true one game at a time and let’s see where we go.”

The men will hit the road for a Friday, Saturday road doubleheader with Montevallo this weekend.
