TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — Mike Norvell is the 11th full time coach of the Florida State football program and his contract is to keep him here for the next six years in Tallahassee.

We don't know dollar amounts just yet.

Norvell introduced Sunday with some fanfare. The new head coach made his way down Bobby Bowden field with his wife and daughter while the Marching Chiefs played the Warchant.

The new head coach is happy to be in Tallahassee. He told a story of having the Florida State 1993 National Championship license plate hanging on his wall as a 12 year old and he felt that same excitement walking into Doak.

"Walking across that football field, there are no words. It was breathtaking," said Norvell. "The hairs on my neck, the hairs on my arm, they were all at full attention. This is a special place, this is a special time, and this is a special opportunity."

A lot of passion and a lot of fire from head coach Mike Norvell.
