TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL — Florida State Volleyball kicked off fall practice Sunday afternoon. The team was picked to finish 2nd in the ACC and one can imagine that the pick is not sitting well with the Seminoles. Madison Sullivan, a junior libero said, "We've finished second so many times and just for people to settle with us being second, it lights a fire underneath us to really just want to show them that we can be first, and we will be first. You know, it's just huge motivation."

This is the fourth time in the last five seasons that the Seminoles have been picked to finish #2. They fall behind the ACC 2018 champion, Pitt.

The team did score some individual honors though. Taryn Knuth and Payton Caffrey were both recognized as 2019 Preseason All-ACC Team. Head Coach Chris Poole explained the honors are a good thing individually and also for the team. "There are schools that didn't have anyone recognized with the Preseason All-Acc. Payton had a great year last year, she's the returning MVP, so we expect her to have a great year and we are putting that kind of pressure on her back," said Coach Poole. "And then, Taryn coming back healthy, a lot of people don't realize last fall she wasn't healthy. So, she went through a fall at probably about 80 percent and was still honorable mention All-American."

The team's fan day and scrimmage game are both scheduled for Aug. 17.
