TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - High school volleyball in the state of Florida kicks off this week, and the Chiles Timberwolves open up the season at Maclay.
The Timberwolves have knocked on the door the past few seasons, falling in the Regional Finals, and while Chiles will be young this season, as they lost five seniors, head coach Kaitlin DiLuzio said her team has been gearing up for this moment for a long time.
"We have a lot of good players coming in," she said. "There's a really good volleyball community here in Tallahassee, so these girls are starting very young. When they get here, they've been playing a lot of them, for five and six years, so we're just able to keep building on the skills they've already come in with."
DiLuzio added if Chiles wants to be successful this year, they will have to start defensively. If you want more information on the Chiles volleyball program, click here.
