TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) - ASG Soccer in Tallahassee created a partnership with German club Schalke, and this week two of their academy coaches in Tallahassee are leading a camp. Next month, Warner soccer president Andy Warner and ten other coaches will fly to Germany to train with the club's coaches, and there's a lot of excitement to share.
"They hear it from us everyday, we're like teachers. Having a new face and a new approach, soccer is soccer," said Warner. "The skills are the same, but listening to professional people talk about the same things I think is very, very positive. It's good to see a new face."
"I love to travel. I love to meet new people, and I love to work with kids," said Lukas Sommer, who comes from the Academy. "It excites me to see a smile on a kids face and help them become better soccer players and better people."
Warner said he and his coaches will make the trip to Germany in August.
