TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — With the economic uncertainties from the coronavirus, we here at ABC 27 are shining a light on businesses that are doing their part to help out the community while keeping their business open.

A local mobile detailing business is offering a safe way to have your car cleaned and sanitized.

Personal trainer Drew Hostetter had to find another source of income, after COVID-19 forced gyms to close.

He decided to turn his side job of detailing vehicles into a full-time business and he created Tally Detail Co.

Hostetter says he's taking safety precautions like wearing a face mask while cleaning and sanitizing everything that's going to be touched by hand when he's finished.

"For years when I've been doing this kind of work, it's typically just been products that will clean the vehicle and make things look a little bit better and restore the trim," said Hostetter. "But now I'm actually incorporating Lysol wipes and disinfectants to make sure that everything stays as sanitized as possible."

Hostetter says business has been picking up as more people see the importance of having a clean and sanitary vehicle to help protect them against COVID-19.

"It actually caught me by surprise that so much of my business was driving to homes, and I guess just because everybody is working from home right now," Hostetter said. "It does make it a little more convenient and safer for everyone for me to show up at the house, clean the vehicle, sanitize it, and make sure we don't have too much interaction."
