MOULTRIE, Ga. (WTXL)--A woman is killed after her home catches fire in Moultrie.

It happened at a home on Fourth Street Southwest. Colquitt County Coroner Verlyn Brock says 36-year old Amanda Lee Martinez was asleep in her bedroom.

He says when she woke up, she was overcome by smoke.

Martinez was the only one inside at the time of the fire. Brock says it appears she died of smoke inhalation.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
