TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A woman is facing misdemeanor charges after posting a photo of a nude woman she found on her boyfriend's cellphone to Snapchat.
Sandashia C. Owens, 26, was released from the Leon County Detention Center on Tuesday on a $1,000 bond. She was booked into jail Monday for the first-degree misdemeanor.
Owens had control of her boyfriend's cellphone when the photograph was posted and had control of, and access to, all of the social media accounts, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Talking to her boyfriend by phone, Owens said she would post naked photographs of the victim on Facebook and Snapchat, the court document said.
After getting into an argument through text messages with the victim in the pictures, she published one image that contained the victim's name to Snapchat.
Owens published the image with "no legitimate purpose, with the intent of causing substantial emotional distress to the depicted person," a violation of Florida law, the document said.
