TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida A&M University football has a new head coach.

Willie Simmons has signed and has officially become FAMU's new head football coach. 

A press conference has been set for Tuesday at 11 a.m. That press conference is open to the public and will be held on the first floor of the Al Lawson Center on FAMU's campus. 

Simmons, a Quincy native, left Prairie View A&M University after coaching three seasons, where he went a combined 21-11.

He was selected as the 32nd head football coach of Prairie View A&M on December 15, 2014. He came to Prairie View A&M after an impressive three-year stint as the offensive coordinator at Alcorn State, winning the 2014 SWAC and SBN Black College National Championships.

He will become FAMU's 18th head football coach.
