WAKULLA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A sexual predator wanted in Gadsden County for sexually assaulting a young child in his care has been arrested by Wakulla County deputies and U.S. Marshals.

According to the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office, Williamalen Kurt Crowley, AKA William, was wanted in Gadsden County for sexual assault, custodial sexual battery on a victim under 12 years of age (capital offense), failure to registered as a sex offender and grand theft auto.

Deputies says that the charges originated from a case in December 2017 after being accused of assaulting a child in his care.

GCSO says Crowley was also being investigated by the U.S. Marshals on separate charges. It is unclear what they were investigating.

The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office says it soon discovered that Crowley had ran from Gadsden County to Wakulla County in an attempt to avoid arrest.

On Thursday, after conducting surveillance and collaborating with law enforcement agencies, a Wakulla County detective and the U.S. Marshals Service arrested Crowley at 185 Tafflinger Road in Crawfordville.

Detectives are also seeking an additional arrest warrant charging Crowley with failing to register as a sexual predator at his new address in Wakulla County.
