TALLAHASSEE, Fla.— The Google Street View Team has gotten in the holiday spirit and veered off the main roads to visit City of Tallahassee’s Dorothy B Oven Park.

Using Google’s Street View technology, you can now tour the Holiday Lights at the park without leaving your computer. The tour takes you from the driveway entrance off Thomasville Road, to the walking paths and even inside the main building.

To get the Dorothy B Oven Park tour, click here: http://goo.gl/Fvu38.

The following are tips on how to take the tour: click on the triangle on the top left of the tour to make it widescreen. Then click on the arrows to walk further down the path, to take lefts or rights or to go back the way you came. Use your cursor to pan around to look up, down, and all around. When you get back out to Thomasville Road, you can click the Double Arrows to go back into regular Street View and travel North or South on Thomasville Road.

You can start the Dorothy B Oven Park tour at several different points in the tour.

Clicking on the box labeled 1 takes you on the tour of the main lobby / ground floor – clicking on the Box labeled 2 takes you to the top of the Capitol. There you can look out the windows overlooking Tallahassee.

Google Street View has been touring local businesses the past 2 months here in Tallahassee. Some businesses you can walk off Street View and enter include Hotel Duval, including Shula’s, Leroc and Level 8, both Red Elephant locations, Play It Again Sports, The Retreat at Bradley’s Pond, Millennium Nail and Day Spa and Diva’s and Devils (among others) – you can find a complete list at www.virtual-florida.com

Google has contracted local representatives to do the work. Steven Saccio, a local photographer has been contracted to do the photography, editing and mapping of the tours. Tony Miller has been doing the scheduling and management.
