MONTICELLO, Fla. (WTXL) - Police have identified the man who died after Monday's shooting in Monticello.

The Monticello Police Department says they are looking for the suspect responsible for a shooting that killed 42-year-old Antreval Green of Monticello and sent another unidentified man to the hospital.

Police say Green's body has been transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital for an autopsy.

MPD and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office responded to a complaint about gunshots in the area of 2nd Street and Orange Street Monday around 11:19 p.m.

When authorities arrived, they found an African-American male victim bleeding from a non-life threatening injury while walking on the street.

Officers noticed a trail of blood leading away from the scene and followed it, prompting police to discover a second victim, Green, lying in a yard with life threatening injuries.

Both men were transported to a hospital for their injuries. Green later died.

Authorities have not released the identity of the hospitalized man. Investigators are now trying to find witnesses.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Monticello Police Department at (850) 342-0150.
