VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Valdosta Police are investigating several armed robberies over the holiday weekend.
The Valdosta Police Department says that there were four reported robberies on Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, there were two armed robberies. The first happened around 1:36 p.m. in the 1700 block of Jimmy Carter Boulevard. The victim told police that the suspect used a unknown weapon to rob him of his belongings.
The second happened around 8:52 p.m. in the 3300 block of Wesley Road. The victim reported that she was also robbed by the suspect who used an unknown weapon.
On Sunday, there were two more armed robberies, both within 10 minutes of each other.
The first happened in the 800 block of Woodlawn Drive around 10:40 a.m. when a victim was robbed by a suspect with an unknown weapon. Superficial injuries were reported, but the victim did not require medical attention according to police.
Ten minutes later, another victim was robbed in the 1500 block of Lankford Drive. No injuries were reported. Lankford Drive and Woodlawn Drive are about 10 minutes apart via car.
Valdosta Police say they will release more information on the incidents when it becomes available, though they say they have developed a person of interest in one of the investigations.
