TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- United Way of the Big Bend (UWBB) is showing appreciation for their supporters during a week-long celebration, the Thank-A-Thon.
The Thank-A-Thon started in 2008, and is all about thanking the organization's donors, volunteers, and partner agencies for a successful campaign year. Supporters raised more than $4.5 million dollars for the UWBB's 2012 goal.
During the fifth annual Thank-A-Thon, which spans from June 3-7, there are several events planned. The schedule is as follows:
Monday, June 3
The United Way's 15th annual Community Golf Classic, Presented by Deloitte at Golden Eagle Country Club
Tuesday, June 4
The UWBB will deliver cookies to their agency partners, thanking them for the programs they implement within the community.
Wednesday, June 5
The UWBB will recognize contributors at a special breakfast. Loyal contributors are donors who have been giving for ten or more years.
Thursday, June 6
The UWBB will host cocktail party for those involved in leadership giving campaigns. A leadership gift is a donation of $1,000 or more.
Friday, June 7
During the final morning, UWBB staff members will be waving thank you signs at four locations across Tallahassee: Seventh Avenue and Thomasville Road, Appalachee Parkway and Monroe Street, Betton Road and Thomasville Road, and the intersection of Blairstone and Capital Circle.
In addition to the scheduled events, the agency will contact supporters personally--through social media and phone calls--in order to express their thanks.
