UPDATE: Person Named in Camp Retreat Shooting Death

FRANKLIN COUNTY, FL. (WTXL) - Franklin County Detectives release the name of the man responsible for gunfire at a camp retreat last Thursday.

Detectives say, 39 year old Clark Mayers is confirmed as the man who shot and killed Jacob Cardwell and seriously injured Wesley Jones.

According to family members, Jones is currently at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital recovering from three gunshot wounds sustained in the incident.

Mayers also remains in the hospital for several stab wounds he suffered after he opened fire at a Rainbow gathering at the Apalachicola National Forest.

The Sheriff's Office says, they are working with the U.S. Attorney's Office because the incident happened of Federal Property.
