SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Two Live Oak teens and a 12-year-old child have been hospitalized after a head-on crash in Suwannee County.
The Florida Highway Patrol says a 2005 Ford Escape driven by Elayna Coombs, 18, of Live Oak was traveling east on U.S. 90 on Monday around 2:30 p.m.
At the same time, a 2005 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Destine Romine, 19, of Wellborn was driving the opposite direction on U.S. 90 near the Columbia County line.
For some reason, Coombs' car crossed over into the westbound lane, hitting Romine's car head on.
Troopers say Coombs' car came to a final rest in a ditch while Romine's car over turned before stopping in the driveway.
Suwannee County Fire Rescue says both teens were life-flighted to area hospitals after being extracted from their respective vehicles.
A 12-year-old passenger riding with Romine also suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized, according to troopers.
