JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL)--Two people die in a crash in Jackson County on Memorial Day including a Tallahassee man.

Just after 12:30 p.m., the Florida Highway Patrol says a Dodge pick-up truck was headed westbound on I-10, went through the median to the eastbound side, and crashed into a Hyundai Sonata. Then that car collided with a Toyota Prius near State Road 8.

Three people from Crestview, Florida were in the pick-up truck. Forty-seven-year-old Melanie Richeson died. An eight-year-old boy has minor injuries. Troopers say he was the only one involved in the crash not wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the truck, 46-year-old Gary Richeson, remains in critical condition.

A Tallahassee family was in the Sonata. The driver, 50-year-old Burton Cummings, also died. Tracy L. Cummings is in critical condition. Twenty-three-year-old Jonathan Cummings was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Nichole D. Blaquiere of St. Petersburg, Florida wasn't hurt. Troopers are investigating the crash. Troopers say the crash isn't alcohol-related, but charges are pending.
