MAYO, Fla. (WTXL)--Two people are dead after a head-on collision in Lafayette County. It happened Wednesday at 6:45 a.m.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say 23-year-old Rosalie Taylor Jackson was driving her Chrysler 200S southbound on U.S. 27 near County Road 20.

Thirty-year-old Jerry Michael Nickerson was driving his Ford ranger pick-up truck northbound. Troopers say for unknown reasons, Jackson's car crossed the center line and hit Nickerson's truck head-on.

The investigation is ongoing.
