JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Troopers say a gas truck driver has been hospitalized in serious condition after he ran into a tree that was laying across a road in Jackson County.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the crash happened Tuesday morning around 5:33 a.m. on S.R. 2 (Timberlane Road).
They say Louis Meighan, 50, of Climax, Georgia was driving westbound on S.R. 2 when he ran into a tree that was laying across the road.
Upon colliding with the tree, Meighan lost control of the truck so it traveled off the road and into a wooded area where it hit another tree.
Troopers say Meighan was transported to Flowers Hospital in serious condition.
