VALDOSTA, GA. (WTXL)-- One man has died after a trailer came unhitched from a truck and hit his car while traveling on Cat Creek road in Valdosta Thursday around 5:30 pm.
According to Reports from Troopers, Walter Clayton was towing a grain hauler, while traveling north on Cat Creek. The accident happened when both vehicles were rounding a curb and the towed trailer came unhitched hitting the other car head on.
The force of the impact killed the driver, Gary Cantrell, instantly and injured the passenger, Lawrence Robinette. The roadway was closed for 2 and a half hours after the accident.
Charges are pending following an investigation.
