Traffic Stop Leads to Felony Drug Arrest

VALDOSTA, GA. (WTXL) - Georgia State Patrol make drug arrest after traffic stop.

Thursday afternoon GSP was working I-75 southbound when Patrolman Cothron pulled over a Jeep Compass for speeding. Cothron says, when he approached the vehicle he smelled a strong odor of marijuana. After a search of the vehicle he found 5 small bags of crack cocaine, two suitcases with 4 vacuum sealed bags of marijuana weighing 4 lbs. and $4,882.94 in U.S currency.

Cothron arrested 25 year old Rudolph Maduro and 24 year old Jeveon Trotman. Maduro was charged with Speeding (84 in 70) and Felony Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute. Trotman was charged with Felony Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute and Felony Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute.

Both men remain behind bars.
