DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — The Florida Highway Patrol says the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 are now open following a tractor-trailer fire.

The northbound lanes of the interstate were still closed Wednesday night near Daytona Beach.

Sergeant Kim Montes says about 450 feet of the roadway will have to be repaired following a fire that started when a tractor trailer crashed into a guardrail and caught fire. T

The road was expected to remain closed for several hours as crews make repairs.

The truck driver was able to get out safely.

It wasn't immediately known why the driver hit the guardrail.

An investigation continues.
