TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (The News Service of Florida) - Florida State University President John Thrasher, a former state House speaker who served in the Vietnam War, is among 20 members of the 2017 class of the Florida Veterans' Hall of Fame.
Gov. Rick Scott and the Florida Cabinet --- Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam, Attorney General Pam Bondi and Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis --- approved the class recommended by the Florida Veterans Hall of Fame Council.
A display of hall of fame members is on a wall near the east entrance of the Florida Capitol.
An induction ceremony is being planned for the week after Thanksgiving.
