TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee synagogue is opening its doors to the community Monday night in light of the mass shooting at a synagogue near Pittsburgh Saturday.

Temple Israel (2215 Mahan Drive) will hold a special service Monday night at 6:30 p.m.

Rabbi Jack Romberg shared this message on Facebook Saturday night:

“To all members of the Jewish community as well as the Tallahassee community in general. Today's tragedy in Pittsburgh is the most violent, awful action ever taken against the Jewish people in the history of the United States. Temple Israel will be having a special service to honor the memories of the victims, to stand together against all bigotry, and prayer for our Jewish brothers and sisters."

At least 11 people were killed, and at least six more were injured, including four police officers. The shooting at Tree of Life Or L'Simcha happened during a service at the synagogue.
