TAYLOR COUNTY, FL (WTXL) - Florida Highway Patrol says that a 17 year old from Perry is charged with careless driving after losing control of his car on Taylor County Road 30 Monday evening.
Florida Highway Patrol says that the teenager was driving east when he lost control of his car and ended up going off the roadway in a wooded area south of the road. Deputies say that after the 2009 Chevrolet 1500 hit several trees, it finally stopped. FHP says it happened around 7:35pm.
According to FHP, 22 year old Caleb Wayne Markey, also from Perry, was the 17 year old's passenger.
FHP says that the driver and Markey were not wearing their seatbelts. FHP's report says that it was not alcohol related.
Both the driver and passenger suffered serious injuries and were taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, according to FHP.
