VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL) - Firefighters said they put out a morning fire at a vacant Valdosta hotel.
The Valdosta Fire Department said that around 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, they responded to a report of a fire on West Hill Ave. When they arrived at the Valdosta Inn and Suites, they saw smoke coming from the second floor.
Firefighters said they aggressively extinguished the fire while other crews searched the building to see if anyone was inside. There were a total of 34 firefighters on the scene.
VFD estimated the total damage to the property to be around $75,000. No injuries were reported though they are still investigating the cause of the fire.
