QUITMAN, GA (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man is dead after a single car crash in Brooks County, Georgia, in which troopers believe alcohol may have played a role.
According to Georgia State Patrol, 39-year-old Curtis James was driving his F250 truck on Saturday night just after 10 p.m. James was reportedly traveling eastbound on Dry Lake Road near Simpson Road when Troopers said he was going too fast around a curve for the road conditions and traveled off the shoulder.
Troopers said James then overcorrected, causing the vehicle to spin out of control across the road and hitting a tree. The truck then reportedly flipped over, coming to a stop upside-down.
James was pronounced dead on the scene, trooper said. They believe alcohol may have played a role in the crash, but said a toxicology report is pending.
