TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee father has been arrested, accused of hitting his son with a bong and a metal pipe on two different occasions.

According to a probable cause document, RJ Trumpet was already in jail for a previous child abuse charge involving hitting his son with a metal pipe when charges were filed against him Tuesday for hitting his son with a glass water bong.

The report says that on two different occasions, RJ Trumpet hit his son, once over his son's head with a glass water bong in September and another time with a metal pipe to his son's body on Nov. 26.

Documents say that Trumpet was arrested during the November incident. Reports say that he also threatened to shoot his son.

During the incident in September, the victim told police that Trumpet had been drinking alcohol and snorting cocaine. It's unclear if drugs were involved in the November incident.

Trumpet is now facing two counts of aggravated battery on a child. He is being held in jail on $60,000 bond.
