TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man was arrested on charges of harboring a 13-year-old runaway.
Tony J. White, 52, was booked into the Leon County Detention Center on Thursday.
He was charged with providing aid to an unmarried minor who ran away from home without first contacting the minor's parent or guardian or notifying a law enforcement officer.
White allowed the teenager to stay in his house despite that, two weeks earlier, a Tallahassee Police Department investigator had visited White and told him that to harbor the teen would be illegal.
At their earlier meeting, White told the investigator he knew both the teen and the mother and had allowed both of them to stay at his home about six months prior.
Acting on a tip, the investigator returned to White's house on Griffin Street on Monday and found the teen at White's house.
