TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- City and county officials are discussing updates to several development projects in Tallahassee.
The Cascades Park Amphitheater draws visitors year-round with festivals and other events, and with that attention comes the issue of noise for nearby neighborhoods.
The Blueprint Intergovernmental Agency has tossed around the idea of a sound wall to resolve the sound concerns.
In June, the board of directors requested more information about the project -- including resident complaints and what's been done so far to reduce the sounds coming from the amphitheater.
The board also put the project on hold -- pending a city review of a property on Myers Park Drive.
Other Blueprint projects include the Capital Cascades Crossing, which is nearing completion. The crossing consists of a trail and bridge to connect Cascades Park to FAMU Way and the St. Marks Trail.
Blueprint says the project is 90 percent complete. Solar canopies, cameras and lighting have been installed.
Other projects include a barbershop in the city's Smokey Hollow neighborhood. The restoration project started at Lively Technical Center. Site construction is expected sometime this fall -- and to be completed by early next year.
The FAMU Way Extension project is also continuing to take shape. Segments 3B and 3C stretch from Adams Street to Coal Chute Pond.
Blueprint says that portion of the project is 95 percent complete.
