TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Many of us feeling cabin fever after all that rain got a full day of sunshine Sunday.
Now that the sun is out in full force for the unofficial start of summer, it's important to protect your skin.
WTXL ABC 27's Karah Bailey went live to share tips from the experts.
"Well, we look at skin cancer, that's the one big thing that can come from not protecting yourself against the sun," said Christopher Tittle, a spokesperson for the Florida Department of Health.
"There's basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas, which are curable, treatable, but there's melanoma, which is less common but can be deadly. It can be a particularly severe form of skin cancer. We don't want anybody to get any forms of skin cancer, which is why we encourage preventative measures."
