TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- All week on Sunrise and Midday WTXL is looking at summer camps in our community.
The Oasis Center for Women and Girls is hosting a series of camps called Girls Can Do Anything!
The weekly sessions for girls 5-15 are all about teaching leadership development, self-esteem and community service - while having some fun of course.

The Center's camps start June 8 and run through August 7. There's no registration deadline but space is limited. Cost is $160 a week for household incomes over $50,000; if lower, cost is $135 a week. Some scholarships are available.

From the Oasis Center:
- I Heart Art (June 8-12): Let your creative side shine! This camp will explore different artistic mediums from painting to fiber arts to cartooning. Girls will also get the chance to meet and learn from influential women artists in our community. The week will culminate with a public exhibition of the girls' art on Friday of this camp week.
- Science Rocks (June 15-19): Girls will explore a variety of scientific and technical fields from engineering to oceanography and will be led in hands on projects by women scientists in our community. Girls will also get to do their own experiments for some silly science fun.
- I'm a Star (June 22-26): A Star is born! Girls will explore the performing arts both on stage and behind the scenes through mask making, scene and costume design, technical theater, theater games and dance. They will learn about performing arts from women in our community and host a performance on Friday of this camp week.
- Adventure Time (July 6-10): Girls will tap into their adventurous side through activities like rock climbing, learning camping skills and roller skating with the Tallahassee RollerGirls.
- Detective Get Down (July 13-17): Be a super sleuth! Girls will explore investigative journalism, age appropriate crime scene investigation at TPD and finding hidden treasures through geo-caching. The girls will also help solve a mystery at Oasis!
- Girls Mean Business (July 27-31): Together, campers will create their very own business! Girls will get to explore all the components of starting and running a company from public relations, product design/marketing, financials, sales and operations. The girls will learn from women business leaders in our community and launch their enterprise on Friday of this camp week.
- All About Animals (Aug. 3-7): Pets and critters galore! Girls will go horseback riding, learn about animal safety, have animal interactions with a variety of species including learning about native Florida wildlife and work with the TMH Animal Therapy program in a service project.
