HAMPTON, Ga. (AP) - About 100 students, their families and school administrators hope to find out why no one showed up to administer the ACT test at a high school south of Atlanta over the weekend.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the students showed up at Lovejoy High School in Hampton prepared to take the test, which is needed to apply for many colleges and universities.

Clayton County Public Schools interim Superintendent Luvenia Jackson said the school district makes schools available for the testing, but the testing organization administers the exams. Jackson said the school system plans to find out what happened and reschedule the test as soon as possible.

Messages left with the Iowa City-based ACT by The Associated Press were not immediately returned early Monday.
