Storm Damage Causes Meridian Rd. Closure

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Strong and severe thunderstorms Sunday have caused scattered pockets of damage, mainly to downed trees and automobiles impacted by the fallen trees.

Emergency management officials in Leon County report a road closure on Meridian Road while cleanup efforts continue.  Northbound traffic on Meridian is being diverted onto Maclay Road, while southbound traffic is being detoured to Ox Bottom Road.

A tornado watch remains in effect for eastern counties in the viewing region until 8:00 p.m.
