TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Patients using medical marijuana will soon have identification cards under a new rule.
Officials from Trulieve, one of the few dispensaries licensed to grow, process, and sell medical marijuana, said that the Florida Department of Health's Office of Compassionate Use has started the process of issuing the ID cards.
Under rule 64-4.011, both medical cannabis patients and caregivers will have to apply for an ID card. They said that the rule became effective on Feb. 19.
Officials say that while physical cards have not been issued yet, they have drafted the applications and are currently accepting them for review.
