TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Officials are making sure that those with medical needs are taken care of during and after the storm.
The Special Needs Shelter is designed for people in the Big Bend area with special medical needs. Those who want to take advantage of the shelter need to be signed up before a disaster.
Those people will then be contacted by an official to see if they need shelter or help moving to a new location. Local leaders stressed the importance of knowing ahead of time who needs help to make sure they have everything prepared for them when the storm hits.
