VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - It's time to "Stamp" Out Hunger with Second of Harvest of South Georgia this weekend.

Stamp Out Hunger is the largest, one day food drive in the nation and Second Harvest needs your help in raising food for the cause.

All you have to do is place your food in a blue bag that comes to your mailbox.

Once full, set them outside your door for your mail carrier or a volunteer to pick up on Saturday.

"There will be tens of thousands of people affected by the proceeds of this food drive, which is great, because our area has some of the largest rates of food insecurity in the nation," said Eliza McCall.

Second Harvest has been participating in the drive for 26 years and suggests purchasing non-perishable items, like canned goods, soups, and peanut butter.

Stay away from glass, because it can break.

Stamp Out Hunger will provide an estimated 150,000 meals to people in South Georgia.
