PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. (AP) - A 19-year-old South Florida man is behind bars after authorities say he stole nearly 100 guns from a Pembroke Pines home.

According to an arrest report, authorities found 55 handguns in Jesus Manuel Regueiro's, along with about 20 empty handgun boxes in two large plastic containers in a canal behind the apartment.

A Pembroke Pines man reported 96 handguns had been stolen from his home and authorities said the serial numbers of 55 matched the ones confiscated at Regueiro's apartment. The Sun Sentinel (http://tinyurl.com/ono86nt ) reports authorities are looking for a second suspect and fear that about 40 guns are out on the streets.

Pembroke Pines Capt. Al Xiques said Tuesday the victim possessed the guns legally.

Regeuiro is being held without bond on armed burglary and grand theft charges.
