GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - A Cairo man is behind bars after being accused of holding an 18-year-old against her will for hours, sexually assaulting her in the process.

The Cairo Police Department says that Roger Trent Jackson, 42, is charged with false imprisonment, sexual battery and criminal trespass in Grady County.

He is also facing charges of false imprisonment and leaving the scene of an accident with damages in Thomas County, WALB reports

According to police, Jackson met the 18-year-old victim on social media. But when they met up on Wednesday, he refused to let the victim out of the car.

The suspect then drove the victim to Thomas County where WALB reports he got into an accident and lead authorities on a low-speed chase in Ochlocknee.

Police say the victim used this as an opportunity to escape and call 911.

Jackson was arrested on Wednesday around 9:30 p.m. Investigators had been searching for Jackson since 3 p.m. that day, according to WALB

He has booked into the Thomas County Jail.
