TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A woman has been taken into custody for hitting and killing a pedestrian at the intersection of Killarney Way and Foley Drive back in January.
The Tallahassee Police Department has arrested Nikoleta Koikos, 36, in connection with the death investigation near the intersection of Killarney Drive and Foley Drive.
On January 12, 2019 TPD responded to the area in reference to a deceased person lying in the roadway.
Investigators found that the victim was hit by a vehicle, which was still on scene along with the driver.
After consulting with the State Attorney’s Office, Traffic Homicide investigators were able to develop probable cause to charge Koikos with vehicular homicide and driving under the influence.
Koikos turned herself into the Leon County Detention Facility on Monday.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Police say a pedestrian was killed on Killarney Way Saturday morning after being hit by a car.
The Tallahassee Police Department says further investigation revealed that the incident was a result of a traffic crash involving a pedestrian.
They believe the incident is isolated, with no immediate threat to the public.
Police say they are aware of all involved parities.
This is still an active investigation and Traffic Homicide Investigators are continuing to process evidence collected from the crash scene. Death investigation underway in northeast Tallahassee
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating a death on Killarney Way and Foley Drive.
All westbound traffic on Killarney Way from Shamrock Street to Foley Drive is blocked at this time. Drivers are urged to avoid the area and take alternate routes.

Police say this is an active investigation and they will release more details when they are available.
