VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - The Valdosta Police Department said that five teens were arrested for firing guns in a backyard on Tuesday.
Police said that around 11 a.m., they were called to a home in the 5000 block of Fontana Road due to reports that people were shooting guns in the backyard.
When the officers arrived, witnesses told them that the suspects were attempting to leave the area in a car. They found the car, pulled it over, and searched it.
They found several rifles and handguns when they searched the car and found two more rifles and two shotguns when they searched the home they were at.
Of the guns that were found, a handgun, a rifle, and a shotgun were reported stolen from Georgia.
Taurian Werts, 18, Satoria Thatp, 17, LaPharoah James, 17, William Smith, 18, and an unidentified 16-year-old were all arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, reckless conduct, discharge of firearm in city limits and possession of firearm under age 21.
All were taken to the Lowndes County Jail except for the juvenile who was turned over to his mother.
